Empowering Parents Group
This is a support group for parents who have children with additional needs. The group meet regularly throughout the year to share information, have a cuppa and a chat and to take part in a variety of workshops and short courses

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a Twelve Step Fellowship dedicated to helping anyone suffering because of their drinking. The Twelve Step Programme is the suggested format for recovery from alcoholism and its effects. The only requirement for membership is the desire to stop drinking.
AA meet in Shannow FRC:
Every Wednesday at 8.00pm
Al Anon is where the friends and family members of problem drinkers share their experiences and learn how to apply the principles of the Al‑Anon program to their individual situations. They learn that they are not alone in the problems they face, and that they have choices that lead to greater peace of mind, whether the drinker continues to drink or not

The women’s group in Shannow is a newly established group, which began meeting in January 2017.
As well as meeting weekly for tea/coffee, chat and fun the group have completed the following classes. These are:
- Diet & Mood, with nutritionist and chef Maxine Brown
- Colour Me Beautiful with Niamh Smyth
- Occupational First Aid
- Plenty more activities planned for 2018 so check our website or facebook page for updates

Parent & Baby / Toddler Group
The Parent & Toddler Group meet in Shannow FRC on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 to 12noon.

The Shannow gardening group is a fun, vibrant and energetic group that meet in the centre every Thursday morning. They aim to be warm and welcoming to all new members who join and are always trying to recruit new people.
The group love entering competitions such as Feile na Mblath and produce shows like the Kingdom County Fair.
Thanks to the IPB Community Engagement Fund the group established a very successful Poly tunnel to the rear of the building and a number raised beds to the front of the building.
The group avail of Gardening classes through Kerry Education and Training Board twice a year.
They are a dedicated group that meet every Thursday morning from 11am to 1pm
